Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator Opportunity |
||
|
Morning, I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch. Abbey Neighbourhood Watch, which covers your street and surrounding roads, is currently without a Coordinator. Unfortunately, without someone local linked into the scheme, the watch will have to close. I just wanted to see whether this might be something you’d be interested in helping with. The role is very flexible and designed to fit around people’s time. It mainly involves helping keep residents connected, sharing local updates and police information when needed, and serving as a point of contact for community concerns. A lot of communication is simply done through email or WhatsApp groups. You do not need previous experience, and you can be as involved as you want to be. Some coordinators are very active in their communities, whilst others simply help keep information flowing locally. You would also have support from me, Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch, local policing teams and the wider coordinator network, so you would never be left to manage things alone. Neighbourhood Watch schemes can also access support with local community issues, crime prevention advice and small funding opportunities for things like signs, community projects and events. Even having somebody local connected into the scheme can make a real difference in helping residents feel more informed, supported and connected as a community. If you’d like to know a little more, even just for an informal chat, please feel free to get in touch. Thanks, | ||
